Get ready with me! - St. Valentine's Edition

Sì, lo so, per gli innamorati San Valentino è ogni giorno, il 14 febbraio è solo una festa commerciale... OK. Ma io credo che sia anche un'occasione per passare una serata carina e romantica, io e il mio ragazzo passiamo la serata insieme, usciamo, niente di troppo impegnativo, ci facciamo dei pensierini ed è bello ogni volta vedere cos'abbiamo scelto l'uno per l'altra, sono momenti dolci. La commercialità sta, secondo me, nell'incentrare tutto sui regali, nello spendere centinaia di € per una festa che poi non è il compleanno o l'anniversario (che secondo me valgono MOLTO di più, perché più significative in quanto sono date personali e non universali).
Fatta questa premessa, vorrei raccontarvi il mio San Valentino 2014 :) ovviamente in linea con il mood del blog, parlando di make up, outfits, DIY e perché no, un po' di me! :D

This post is about my St. Valentine's Day! Because of the fact I talk mainly about Italian brands and places, I'll just make a summary for every section of the post: let's begin from the fact I think St. Valentine's Day is a special day for couples who are actually in love, on the contrary it is a commercial occasion just if you opnly think about presents and if you spend a lot of money for them leaving behind the real feelings.

Ho cominciato a prepararmi alle 6 di pomeriggio, vabè, ma questo capita spesso quando ho serate un po' più speciali perché potrei cominciare a prepararmi a qualsiasi ora, ma sono sempre in ritardo! XD Inoltre volevo fare un make up rubato a Clio (->questo QUI<-), un po' rielaborato e devo dire che alla fine mi è venuto abbastanza bene! Ecco il risultato! :D

I began to prepare at 6 PM because I'm always in a delay XD my make up was a smokey eyes with pink/purple shades.

Poooi non sapevo come fare i capelli, alla fine ho optato per una cresta non troppo alta, tipo questa in foto! :)

Per quanto riguarda l'outfit ho optato per questo meraviglioso abito in lurex di Coconuda, calze nere coprenti, envelope bag e... il mio nuovo acquisto, queste meravigliose décolleté di Zuiki! Per i bijoux, cascata di bracciali (Dodo, Versace, Pupa, NewYorker) in entrambi i polsi e orecchini Ti Sento Milano ;)

In my total black outfit there were a lurex dress, pumps, an envelope bag, lots of bracelets and steel earrings.

Tanto per essere romantici siamo andati al McDonald's XD e abbiamo utilizzato l'offerta per le coppie pagando un solo menu anziché 2 ;)

Ma non abbiamo esagerato con la cena perché volevamo lasciare la cosa speciale per il dopo cena... parlo del dolce! :D Se siete di Catania o dintorni dovete assolutamente andare da Fiordilatte! Gusti di gelato spettacolari e specialità deliziose! Ieri Abbiamo optato per il Poldocaldo (lui), che è una specie di brioche calda servita con panna e gelato di uno o 2 gusti che vuoi tu, e per una crépe nera (io), in cui ho messo gelato al gusto di Cioccorum e Cannella, e sopra salsa al cioccolato fondente e granella di mandorle caramellata! :D Nongiudicatemiviprego.............. comunque tutto buonissimo ovviamente!!!!!!

We eat at McDonald's XD but the dessert moment was so special because we went to an ice cream shop where you can choose among lots of delicious specialties to eat.

In fine veniamo ai regali :) io ho optato per dei DIY e della cioccolata :D Un Cuore bello grande della Lindt e una scatola di cioccolatini di tre gusti: Cookies&Cream, Caramel Brownie e Npougat Crunch, sempre Lindt :) Impacchettata in una busta dipinta e "assemblata" da me, poi ho utilizzato una delle proposte consigliate nel post precedente: il libretto con le frasi d'amore! Che ha apprezzato tantissimo <3 E anche un bigliettino sempre fatto da me ^^ 

Lui invece mi ha regalato il cuscino Lindt a forma di cuore con Minnie e Topolino! E' bellissimo, io adoro i cuscini e adoro questo, è morbido e il disegno vintage è meraviglioso! Poi mi ha scritto un bigliettino e... scaricato l'intera collezione di uno dei miei manga preferiti! Una bellissima sorpresa che non mi aspettavo... <3

As for presents I gave him special Lindt chocolates, a little handmade book of famous love sentences and a handmade card. He gave me the Lindt Disney pillow with Mikey Mouse and Minnie, a card and the complete collection of one of my favourite mangas!

Che dire di più... un bellissimo San Valentino! Una cosa bellissima è che ancora una volta abbiamo manifestato il nostro amore, ancora una volta i pensieri che ci siamo scambiati hanno mostrato il fatto che ci conosciamo davvero, che sappiamo cosa piace all'altro... e niente è più importante per me: conoscersi e capirsi. Questa la ritengo una base imprescindibile per qualsiasi VERO AMORE.

The important thing for me is seeing we know and understand each other, which is the solid base for the REAL LOVE.

Gift Ideas for St. Valentine's Day!

Aaaaaaaaaaah questo post arriva fin troppo tardi! Quindi non mi perdo in chiacchiere, introduco direttamente l'argomento: San Valentino! Non avete bisogno di scervellarvi, potete fare i pensierini da voi, le cose handmade hanno sempre più valore perché ci si è impegnati materialmente per farle! Inoltre vi mostrerò anche delle idee carine ma per cui non bisogna necessariamente spendere un capitale! Pronti...? :D

Cominciamo da un classico: il bigliettino! Quello non può mai mancare... e se fatto con le proprie mani è ancora più prezioso! Ci sono tantissime idee con cui sbizzarrirsi...

Let's begin from the classic greeting card! It is a must and a handmade one is also more precious! There are many many ideas among which you can choose...

Altra cosa caratteristica: i dolcetti! Biscotti, cupcakes, muffins... anche qui ci sono tante idee carine da poter realizzare!

Another characteristic thing is sweetness! So, welcome to biscuits, cupcakes, muffins... again, there are a lot of easy ways to make them!

Un'idea un po' più originale: un libriccino con citazioni d'autore sull'amore o con tutte le cose che amiamo del nostro partner!

A more original idea: a little book with love sentences or with the reasons why we love our partner!

E perché non abbinare un bel segnalibro al libriccino? Di stoffa o di carta, con disegnini o bottoni... l'importante è che il richiamo a S. Valentino non manchi: parlo del colore rosso e dei cuoricini!

Poi, in collaborazione con la Trudi, dei dolcissimi gattini + cioccolatini! E in fine la confezione a forma di cuore con un meraviglioso braccialetto!

Lindt too proposes beautiful ideas! We find the Disney collection with pillows, canisters and keychains with Minnie and Mikey Mouse... amazing! Then, in collaboration with Trudi, sweet kitties with chocolates and, last but not least, the wonderful package with a really cute bracelet!

Trovo tutte queste idee bellissime, sicuramente ne sceglierò qualcuna per la mia dolce metà! <3 E non nascondo che qualche pensierino presente tra questi mi piacerebbe anche riceverlo... :D

My Favourite Nail Polishes (Part 2)

Eccoci alla seconda puntata sugli smalti! Stavolta vi dico quelli che preferisco per la loro lunga durata!

#1 KIKO QUICK DRY NAIL LACQUER 800 TRASPARENTE

Questo smalto fa quel che promette: si asciuga in fretta. E dura tantissimo! E' perfetto anche come top coat e ha un applicatore più grande che mi permettere di stenderlo molto meglio! Insomma, lo adoro!

Adoro questi quattro smalti per gli stessi due motivi: sono perfetti anche con una sola passata e non hanno una consistenza liquida ma fluida, che ricorda il gel, a mio parere il motivo principale della loro lunga durata.

Chi l’avrebbe detto che questo smalto di una marca praticamente sconosciuta durasse così tanto?? L’ho preso senza molta convinzione solo perché mi mancava questo colore, ma appena ho visto la rapidità con cui si asciuga e la sua durata è stato amore!

I love these four nail polishes for the same two reasons: they're perfect even when you apply them just one time and they're not liquid, but fluid, which reminds gel. I think it's the main reason for their being long lasting.

It dryes very quickly and lasts a lot! Has also cointains particular microscopic gold glitter. J’adore <3

Who'd have thought this nail polish of a totally unknown brand lasted so much?? I bought it without being completely convinced, just because of its colour, but when I experienced its fast drying and its lasting I fell in love with it!

#8 KIKO READY-TO-GO COLOUR PATCH NAIL LACQUER (104 MARTHA RED)

Non è un vero e proprio smalto, ma è facilissimo e velocissimo da applicare e con solo una passata di top coat (il KIKO QUICK DRY NAIL LACQUER, ovviamente! :D) mi è durato ben 10 giorni! Consigliatissimo!!!

#8 KIKO READY-TO-GO COLOUR PATCH NAIL LACQUER (104 MARTHA RED)
It's not a real nail polish, but it's really easy and fast to apply and with just an application of top coat (KIKO QUICK DRY NAIL LACQUER, obviously! :D) lasted for 10 days! I absolutely recommend it!

My Wishlist

Non riuscirò mai ad estinguere totalmente la mia wishlist... semplicemente perché per ogni cosa che compro poi me ne vengono in mente altre 100! XD Questa è la mia wishlist del momento, chissà quante cose sto dimenticando! XD

Mentre tutte le cose sinora elencate si possono trovare anche low cost, un paio di scarpe così di solito costano un po' di più... le avevo viste da Primadonna, contavo di prenderle con gli sconti, ma a quanto pare sono andate a ruba! D:

Bello lanoso e caldo! Lo vorrei panna così da poterlo abbinare facilmente!

Ho difficoltà a trovarlo perché ne vorrei uno semplice e non troppo vistoso, ma tutti quelli che ho visto sinora sono eccessivamente appariscenti!

Volevo scrivere un post sui miei smalti preferiti ma non so scegliere, ognuno mi piace per un motivo diverso! Così oggi vi parlo dei miei colori preferiti!

I wanted to write a post about my favourite nail polishes, but I can't choose, I like every one for a different reason! So today I'll talk about my favourite nail polishes colours!

 

#1 MULTI EFFECT NAIL LACQUER 02 ROSA PALISSANDRO E FUCSIA BY KIKO
Lo smalto inferiore, di questo rosa cipria meraviglioso e versatile!

#2 NAIL LACQUER 389 LATTEMENTA BY KIKO
Questo verde acqua chiarissimo, quasi azzurro Tiffany, molto estivo e fresco! E dura anche tanto! :D

#3 LICRA PRO 404 ICON STYLE BY RIMMEL
Un bordeaux quasi tendente al fucsia molto particolare, non il solito rosso! E ha un pennello più grande del solito, molto comodo per l'applicazione! Peccato che vada via in fretta, unico rammarico! :(

#4  NAIL LACQUER 359 PESCA CHIARO BY KIKO
Salmone chiaro, quasi fluo… lo adoro! Anche questo molto duraturo e perfetto per l’estate! ;)

#5 LASTING COLOR GEL 055 GLEAMING SEA BY PUPA
Un carta da zucchero meraviglioso, tonalità molto riposante e decisamente particolare! Anche questo ha un pennello più grande e comodo e non è il classico azzurro!

#6 NAIL LACQUER 227 ROUGE NOIR SCURO BY KIKO
Rosso scurissimo, quasi nero all’apparenza! Molto elegante e fine, peccato che, al contrario degli altri due, non duri molto :(

The below one, this sort of nude pink which is wonderful and easy to match!

#2 NAIL LACQUER 389 MINT MILK BY KIKO
This very light bluegreen, almost Tiffany colour, very summerish and chilly! It also lasts a lot! :D

#3 LICRA PRO 404 ICON STYLE BY RIMMEL
A particular burgundy with fuchsia reflections, not the usual red! It has also a bigger applicator, very comfortable! Unfortunately it doesn't last very much :(

#4  NAIL LACQUER 359 LIGHT PEACH BY KIKO
Very light peach, almost fluo... I love it! It's also long lasting and perfect for summer! ;)

#5 LASTING COLOR GEL 055 GLEAMING SEA BY PUPA
A beautiful cornflower blue, very restful and peculiar! It also has a bogger and more comfortable applicator and, again, it isn't the classic light blue!

#6 NAIL LACQUER 227 DARK ROUGE NOIR BY KIKO
Very dark red, it seems black! Very elegant and chic, it's a pity that it doesn't last as the other two ones of the same collection :(

Disappointing Beauty Products

Non sono sempre stata una patita del make up. Un tempo solo un po’ di matita sotto gli occhi (il mio tratto distintivo) e via! Niente correttore perché mi piacevano le occhiaie (non ne ho poi molte a dire il vero) e niente fard perché mi piaceva ma mia carnagione molto chiara. Ma, ahimè per il mio portafogli, non è più così! Non sono una maniaca, ma mi piace avere l’essenziale, semplicemente perché ho capito che il trucco non serve a coprire, ma ad esaltare i nostri punti di forza! Di rado sperimento, prima di comprare nuovi prodotti mi piace leggere le recensioni o provare il tester, ma a tutti capita di fare degli errori e questo mi fa arrabbiare perché poi non riesco a finire questi prodotti con cui mi sono trovata male e sento di aver speso soldi inutilmente :( ecco quelli che mi hanno delusa di più!

I’ve not always been in love with make up. At the beginning I used just a little black pencil under the eyes (one of my distinctive characteristics), no concealer because I liked my circles under the eyes (crazy!) and no blush because I liked my white skin. But, unfortunately for my wallet, things have changed! I’m not a make up buff, but I want to have the essential products, because I’ve learned that make up has to be used to underline our strengths and not just to cover. Rarely I buy products without having read reviews or without having tried the testers, but mistakes happen and buying bad products irritates me, because I’m not able to finish them and can’t stand wasting my money :( here are the worst make up products I’ve ever bought!

#1 WHITE KAJAL PENCIL BY ESSENCE

Niente di speciale, l’ho presa per applicarla nella rima inferiore interna dell’occhio, ma prima di farla scrivere decentemente devo passarla più volte e pressare. Non proprio un toccasana per i miei occhi!

#2 Velvet Stick Blush 05 VERVE PEONY BY KIKO
Non riesco a sfumarlo bene, quando lo passo sopra la BB cream e lo stendo con le mani si formano dei pallini… insomma, un disastro! Riesco ad usarlo solo sulla pelle senza trucco, in quel caso a volte lo diluisco con la crema per stenderlo meglio. Peccato, perché è un bel colore e ha davvero un buon profumo!

#3 PETAL HIGHLIGHTER 03 SATIN BRONZE BY KIKOMe l’hanno venduta come una polvere illuminante per viso e décolléte, ma ha solo rare micro particelle poco illuminanti ed è decisamente scura per la mia carnagione! Inoltre non appena la apro fuoriesce un sacco di polvere sporcando tutto e l’applicatore in dotazione (una specie di spugnetta è pessimo. A volte lo uso come blush (ma è difficile anche da prelevare con il pennello, non appena lo appoggio viene via troppo prodotto) o sulla scollatura quando sono abbronzata.

#4 VIBRANT EYE PENCIL 604 VIOLA INTENSO BY KIKO

La spacciano per waterproof, in realtà appena apro l’occhio si spalma sulla parte superiore della palpebra e l’applicatore anziché sfumarla la toglie via. Riesco ad usarla solo nella rima inferiore interna dell’occhio.

#5 Color Trend Shine on Eyes Teal Shimmer By avon

Come al solito lo spacciano per qualcosa che non è. DOVREBBE essere grigio scuro, ma ha dei riflessi verdini che non lo rendono versatile come dovrebbe essere. Inoltre si infila nelle pieghe della palpebra in quanto non è per niente resistente.

#6 e #7 Liquid Eyeliner Midnight e plum by elf 
Buon prezzo e buona tenuta, ma ho ordinato un blu e un viola e mi arrivano un blu scurissimo quasi nero(sull’occhio non si distingue che è blu!) e un marrone! Li uso lo stesso, ma non sono quello che mi aspettavo.

#8 INK LINER WATER RESISTANT BY BOTTEGA VERDEIl peggiore in assoluto, questo eyeliner è il male. Pennello pessimo, prodotto secco, l’unica volta che l’ho utilizzato non è durato e si è spiaccicato sulla palpebra superiore, un classico. Per fortuna, almeno, non l’ho acquistato a prezzo pieno! Bocciatissimo.

#9 SUPER COLOUR MASCARA 02 BLU BY KIKO
--->QUI<--- spiego perché mi sono trovata malissimo con questo mascara!

#1 WHITE KAJAL PENCIL BY ESSENCE
Nothing special, I wanted to use it under the eyes, but it doesn’t write very well, so I have to press it several times and it is not so good for my eyes!

#2 Velvet Stick Blush 05 VERVE PEONY BY KIKO
It can't be shaded well, when I use it over the BB cream it forms little cracks… it’s a disaster! I can use it just on clean skin and sometimes I dilute it with moisturizing cream. It’s a pity because I love its colour and its perfume!

#3 PETAL HIGHLIGHTER 03 SATIN BRONZE BY KIKO
It was considered an illuminating powder for face and décolléte, but it has very few microscopic bright particles which don’t shine very much and it’s dark for my skin! Moreover, when I open it a lot of powder comes out getting dirty and the applicator (a little sponge) is awful. Sometimes I use it as a blush (but it is difficult using it with the brush too, I pick up too powder) or on the décolléte when I’m tawny.

#4 VIBRANT EYE PENCIL 604 INTENSE PURPLE BY KIKO
It should be waterproof, but when I open my eyes it “transfers” on the eyelids and the applicator which should shade it, on the contrary deletes it. I manage to use it just under my eyes.

#5 Color Trend Shine on Eyes Teal Shimmer By avon
It SHOULD be dark grey, but has greenish reflections which make it difficult to match. Moreover, it goes into the eyes folds because it is not resistant at all.

Good price and resistance, but I simply asker for a blue and a purple eyeliner, not for an almost black and a brown ones. I use them, but I expected other colours.

The worst product I’ve ever bought, this eyeliner is evil. Awful brush, dry product, the only time I used it, it did not lasted, transferring on the eyelids. Luckily, when I bought it, it was on sale. I HATE IT!!!

Si può amare un posto senza non esserci mai stata...? Ebbene, io ho sempre amato Roma, ancor prima di andarci per la prima volta, due anni fa. E ho sempre saputo di volerci abitare, anche solo per un periodo!
Ieri ho avuto la fortuna di tornarci, anche se solo per un giorno, ma se va come deva andare potrei tornarci molto presto! ;)

Can you love a place without having been there...? Well, I've always been loving Rome, even before going there for the first time (2 years ago). And I've always known I'd want to move there, even just for a period.
Luckily yesterday I came there again, just for a day, but if things go well, I could return there very soon! ;)

Il tempo era bruttino in quanto solo il giorno prima c'era stata una bomba d'acqua, il paesaggio era allagato, era nuvoloso e pioveva a tratti, perciò stavolta sono potuta andare "solo" al Colosseo perché, diciamolo... come si può andare a Roma senza visitare il Colosseo?? E anche sotto la pioggia tutto era magico...

The weather wasn't so good because the day before there had be a flood, in fact the landscape was awash, it was cloudy and sometimes it began to rain, so I went just to the Colosseum, because... You can't go to Rome without visiting the Colosseum! And anything was magic even under the rain...

Di Roma amo anche la Fontana di Trevi in primis e Villa Borghese! Spero di poter vedere presto tanti altri luoghi, musei, opere, mostre e tutto ciò che si trova in questa città magica, meravigliosa... da sogno!

I Love the Trevi Fountain and Villa Borghese too! I hope to see soon other Roman places, museum, artworks, exhibitions and all the amaging things of this Magic, marvelous city!

Anche l'aria che si respira sembra diversa, migliore... e camminare per le sue strade mi fa sentire a casa.

Even the air I breathed seemed different, better... and walking those streets makes me feel at home.
